CONCERT FOR L’ARCHE, PRESTON – 11 SEPTEMBER:
A concert for L’Arche, Preston will take place on Saturday 11th September at 7.30 pm in St John’s Minster, Church Street, Preston. The concert is to be performed by young musicians based around Preston who may be studying in other parts of Britain. They are all doing the concert for free. Please see poster on the Notice Board.
FR. STEPHEN’S RETREAT – CALDEY ABBEY – TENBY, S. WALES, 11 – 14 SEPTEMBER:
Fr Stephen’s retreat at Caldey Abbey, Tenby, South Wales is from 11 – 14 September. It is the third of his Benedictine retreats in 2010. OUR GARDEN PARTY – 26 SEPTEMBER:
Our Garden Party is postponed one week this year to 26th September:
One Family Mass on the Garden Party Sunday morning will be at 10.30am in order to start the Garden party as soon after Mass as possible. There will be bacon and sausage butties available (courtesy of the scouts) straight after Mass. There will be an extra Mass on Sunday evening at 6pm. We would like those helping to get stalls ready during Mass, so please think about attending the Vigil or the Sunday evening Mass.
The Youth group are having a "Crackpot stall" at the garden party so we require old plates, cups, saucers, bowls and teapots. Please leave in the narthex marked crackpots!
We still need good tombola prizes bottles and unwanted gifts. We are now collecting good items for the White elephant stall not jumble. Please leave in the narthex under the table. Many thanks for all the wonderful items that have been donated so far. We are looking for a team of strong helpers to set up tables and bring out goods for the stalls. We would also like more people to bake cakes. There is a list to sign in the Narthex for both these needs.

LOYOLA HALL – SPIRITUAL ACCOMPANIMENT COURSE – STARTS, 4 OCTOBER:

ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPICE – 6 MILES WALK FOR FUNDS – 9 OCTOBER
St Joseph’s Hospice (Jospice) is organising a 6 mile scenic walk along the ‘Tolkien Trail’ on Saturday 9th October to raise much needed funds for the hospice and clinics that they run in Honduras. Names of anyone wishing to take part must be given to Fr Jonathan by 27th August. More details of the walk and the work of Jospice are on the Notice Board.
